CALOOCAN Bishop Deogracias Iniguez, chairman of the Catholic Bishops of the Phililippines’ Episcopal Commission on Public Affairs, said Sen. Panfilo Lacson should come out of hiding and face the murder charges lodged against him.
Iniguez urged Lacson to face his accusers in court to clear his name. “He should be man enough and face his case,” the bishop said.
A vocal critic of President Arroyo, Lacson left the country last January 8 and has yet to report for work in the Senate since.
Days after he fled the country, the senator admitted that he went into hiding to avoid being prosecuted for the murder of publicist Salvador “Bubby” Dacer and his driver Emmanuel Corbito.
The Manila Regional Trial Court issued a warrant of arrest for Lacson as the principal accused in the slayings.
