A BISHOP and several priests have taken to the stage in an annual concert to help troubled youths and typhoon victims.
Bishop Carlito Cenzon of Baguio performed five songs during the three-hour concert at the Center for Culture and the Arts at Saint Louis University in the city.
The concert was organized by the Baguio Cathedral International Music Festival, a company Bishop Cenzon established in 2006 with Father Benedict Castaneda, Baguio Cathedral parish priest, and international tenor Juan Alberto Gaerlan, known locally as “Baguio’s Pavarotti.”
Bishop Cenzon pushed for this year’s concert to help provide “wholesome” channels for the young to express themselves in a creative way.
The elderly and young people who packed the university on February 3 warmly applauded the bishop’s group after each number, which included secular songs like “You’ve Got a Friend,” and religious and inspirational songs like “Let There Be Peace on Earth.”
